New, New, New!

I haven't posted in a while, but that's not entirely my fault. I've been reading and painting and dealing with family issues a lot lately. The painting is coming along nicely. I love it so far. I've been reading, but it hasn't been as fast paced at I wish it would be.

My brother has UC or ulcerative colitis. He just had a relapse, so life has been a little stressful. He's getting better, but he has to go to some more doctors and blood tests.

Back to book-world: I'm not happy with Rapture. It's too slow-paced for a finale. I feel like I'm dragging my feet through the mud. It's not a bad story-line, but I don't think Lauren Kate is doing it justice by ending it in such a slow manner. I get that they have nine days before Lucifer fucks up the whole world; I do, but they need to get their shit together and move a little faster to get this shit done.

The Maze Runner is another story completely. I am obsessed with this book. The way that James Dashner writes these characters shocks me to my core. In a fantastic way, though. Like, I hope they don't fuck up the movie kind of way. The cast of characters in this book is amazing. Thomas is incredible. He doesn't have a freaking clue where he is and yet he manages to know his way around and he defeats 4 Grievers in one night, when they get locked out into the Maze. I haven't finished it yet, but I hope it ends well. Mainly because there are two more books.

I'm not really into Halo, though. It's just an overused story line. It's almost like reading The Fallen Series all over again. Except in this series the girl is an angel throughout the whole story and you see it from her perspective.

Two days ago, I went school shopping. I got some mechanical pencils, sleep shorts, cords and jeans, a Hogwarts Tee, two scarves: one black-the other a red infinity, and teriyaki beef jerky.
Oh! And one more thing: I bought Insurgent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited to finally own this! After reading Divergent earlier this summer, I've been wanting to buy this book, but I wanted to wait until it came out in paperback. Luckily, I went into Walmart and there they had it for roughly $13. I was in heaven. So, of course I bought it. (:

Not much had happened, lately. Oh, except the she-who-shall-not-be-named ex-friend of mine texted me out of the blue wednesday last week, after I've made it very clear I want nothing to do with her. Like, go away.

Until next time,
The Book Nerd
