This Chick!! *Contains Spoilers*
Later, Jace is pretty much forced into this awful kind of cell, that if he runs into the walls to try to get out he'll die. Serious stuff. The Inquisitor, the woman who's supposed to put the Law and the interest of The Clave above all else, is locking Jace in a cell, his hands bound by rune magic, just so she can trade him to Valentine in exchange for the Mortal Instruments. Seriously, lady? Are you that revenge driven not to understand the nature of Valentine? He is that man who happened to do something horrible to your Stephen, although we don't know what at the moment, and he's also the one who "killed his own son, wife, and himself" just so he could appear dead. When in actuality he killed the Wayland's. How would it be a confusing concept that Valentine would rather you just mailed Jace's dead body to him than hand over the Mortal Instruments. It's been quite clear from the time of his uprising that all he's cared for is followers and power. Power above all else.
*Sighs* That was a big.....thing off my chest. (Sorry couldn't think of a word). That woman has just been bothering me from the start. All she does is talk; she never listens to a word anyone is saying. This woman has some serious psychological issues.
I'll probably be done with the book by later tonight, if I don't dawdle.(:

New Book! New Book!
The new book that I'm reading is the second book in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare; it's called City of Ashes. I'm already about 143 pages in and I love it! Although I think this is the only book where I'm really hoping that the two main characters aren't brother and sister so that they can be together. This is probably the first time I've ever rooted for a incestuous relationship. It's kind of odd actually. I think part of it is that it's hard to explain to people why you want them together.
In other news: I have to to a Summer Reading project (my last one ever), and I actually do the assignment (gives me an excuse to make my parents get me new books) and I've decided on the books that I'm going to read: The Lost Gate by Orson Scott Card and The Dark Days of Hamburger Halpin by Josh Berk. I hope I chose good books. Wish me luck!

Teen Book Festival !!
I have never read it, and I think the plot line sounds amazing. To quite from the back of the book, "Escaping from the brutality of an arranged marriage, seventeen-year-old Ismae finds sanctuary at the convent of St. Mortain where the sisters still serve the gods of old. Here she learns what the god of Death Himself has blessed her with dangerous gifts--and a violent destiny. If she chooses to stay at the convent, she will be trained as an assassin and serve as a handmaiden to Death. To claim her new life, she must be willing to take the lives of others.
Ismae's most important assignment takes her straight into the high court of Brittany, where she must pose as a mistress to the darkly mysterious Gavriel Duval, who has fallen under a cloud of suspicion Once there, she finds herself woefully underprepared--not only for the deadly games of love and intrigue, but fir the impossible choices she must make. For how can she deliver Death's vengeance upon a target who, against her will, had stolen her heart?"
Sounds good, no? I can't wait to read it, but sadly I must read two more before I can start this one. :/ I also bought a book for one of my dear friends who went with me, Rift by Andrea Cremer. I'm not going to go into detail about it because I just reviewed and discussed it. Sooo, I'm just going to tell you instead that they had so many beautiful books there, I wish I had brought more money and been able to get more. Although I think that getting a total of 25 books for myself in the past two weeks should be enough to hold my pallet for books for a little while, but alas, there are those books that I must get, otherwise my collection shan't be complete.
Also, I'm going to start reading City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare after I finish The Fallen and Leviathan by Thomas E. Sneigoski. I'm excited. :)
I found out something rather interesting today. My mother and I were sitting in our basement listening to some really good music and we got to talking and then I was telling her about the book fair, and she told me something intriguing. Apparently, I get my bad book buying habit from my grandmother (mom's mother, I never met her she died a little bit before I was born). Grams used to have stacks all over the house, and she would always buy her books, but she would never go to the library. My mom said, "Your grandmother was the biggest contradiction. She was the cheapest person I ever met, but she would never go to the library for books; she would always buy them, no matter what." I found the kind of funny. Seeing as I do go to the library, but then I can't seem to stop buying books either. Oops! :)
I thought this fit this post perfectly. :) Enjoy.

I have found a new book, or rather an old one..
The new/old book that I "found" was actually a book that one of my friend's is letting me borrow again so that I can finish it this time. Last time, we had some issues but we've worked those out and now I get to read it again. YAY! It's called The Fallen and Leviathan by Thomas E. Sniegoski. When she had told me about this book, she didn't like it one bit, but I jumped into the story and fell in love with it from page one.
I thought I would post, seeing as I haven't in awhile and let ya'll know what I've been up to and that I do have a "normal" book that I'm reading. :)
Sorry this is so short; hope you forgive me! I hope that this next picture will inspire you to forgive me because he's 'effin hot!!!
I really hope this does inspire you. He's my new celeb crush, this is mainly because of the show Orphan Black, one show with which I dare do not part :)

Denoument
I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Alistair was the one character throughout this entire novel that I just wanted to strangle. First, he tries to practically rape her. Second, he basically calls her his concubine, or would be. He wants to marry her and keep her in a cage; the one thing that Ember cannot stand. She's a free spirit and must remain so. Third, he claims so have some rights over her because he knew her long before Barrow did. That isn't even a valid reason to have claim over a person. This is a person we are talking about here, not some household object that someone could just buy and sell. Lastly, he's too obsessed with her to see that she doesn't love him, not in the way he has his hopes up about anyway. And, there's a sadness in that, if you look past the disgusting man that he is, you could almost feel bad for the poor, stupid idiot.
Note: For the next little while I will be reading manga (in it's most basic form, written anime, and it's read from right to left). I don't review manga on here for the soul purpose that manga is more something I keep private. By that, I mean that I like to keep my opinion on a certain series (whichever I happen to be reading) under wraps. It's something I rarely discuss with other people, seeing as I live in a town where people just don't understand the beauty of these stories. Anyways, I am going to start reading the other books that I have on my lists and the next cover I'm going to have up is Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick.
Enjoy. :)

I Was Bad.....
I did something bad. Well, not bad per-say, but it was something I shouldn't have done. I will try to update tomorrow, especially if I finish Rift.
UPDATE: I bought yet another book this Sunday (today) :) I have a problem; I am aware of this predicament. But, that doesn't mean I'm going to do anything to quench this thirst for books. Now, let me tell you what I bought. What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen. I've been meaning to get more of her books and I had the money on me when my father and I went to go get a few things my mom forget to get on Saturday, so now I have yet another new book. (I have updated about Rift). That is all my loyal peeps. :)

Updating.....Finally
First: One of my very close friends, had this guy with whom she really loved and he proposed to her with a lord of the rings themed ring, it says, "One ring to bind us, One ring to show/prove our love, One ring to forever entwine us." Very mushy, I know. And at first I kind of liked the guy, and then he was an ass to her, and she dumped his ass because she realized that he was being a manipulating dick. Anyways, long story short, she was going to throw the ring into the lake and I stopped her because it would have been a waste of a perfectly good nerd ring. Now, I wear it on my ring finger, and it's beautiful :)
Second: I only have a little less than a month left of school, exciting I know, but that also means that I have to cram for exams, and I also have three concentration pieces due before the end of the year for one of my art courses. This also cuts away from any free time that I have. I can barely watch any of my shows right now (Orphan Black and Doctor Who and The Nerdist a.k.a Supernatural Saturday on BBC) and that sucks. Out loud. But, I am excited about the pieces, they are all Alice in Wonderland themed. And, yes, I was inspired by a book I read.
Third: I understand that I as going to post about my trip to my local library's book sale and report what I just so happened to have picked up, but I didn't get a chance to get online. I spent close to and hour and a half re-organizing the bookshelves in my room to make room for the new books. And I must say I'm satisfied with the results. Right after I'd gotten myself happy with the way it turned out, I had to get in the coldest most refreshing shower ever, this was due to the fact that my room was muggy and it's hard work moving lots of heavy books around places. Let me tell you. Now I shall tell you what I got:(this is in no particular order)
- The Compete Sherlock Holmes printed in 1930
- Anna Karenina -Leo Tolstoy
- The Scarlet Letter -Nathaniel Hawthorne
- Frankenstein -Mary Shelley
- Dracula -Bram Stoker
- Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass -Lewis Carroll
- Dear John -Nicholas Sparks
- The Lucky One -Nicholas Sparks
- The Bride Collector -Ted Dekker
- Angelology -Danielle Trussoni
Fourth: I wanted to let you all know that I am almost done with Rift by Andrea Cremer. I will give an update tomorrow if I can, or try Saturday. It's mother's day weekend and I've promised to do all laundry for my present to her, so I hold no promises.
Lastly: I was perusing GoodReads.com a few nights ago and I happened upon the sequel for Splintered by A.G. Howard and I thought I was going to hyperventilate from how happy I was. It's called Unhinged and on the front cover is Morhpeus and he's just so gorgeous not to mention just the artwork. Ugh! Beautiful! The only non-beautiful thing is that this book doesn't come out to the public to until January of next year. :/
Just look at it! It's a dream :) *Stares dreamily at the photo*

Diagnosed
Now that I've figured out what I have and I know that I'm not going to die (I have a severe cold. Go figure!), I am up to posting again. :) YAY! Although I am puzzeled as to why I have a cold in the middle of spring but, hey, I'm not questioning it. I realize I have to change the picture that is up right now (the book cover) because I have come to the sad conclusion that I can no longer continue to drag my feet through the mud to read this book. Entice is a wonderful book, don't get me wrong, but it's not holding my attention. Or maybe it's just my mindset lately; I'm not sure.
So, I shall be reading Rift by Andrea Cremer instead. I'm already about 112 pages into the book anyhow, and it's holding my interest more than Entice did. Rift is the beginning of the prequel series to the Nightshade series. As much as a mouthful as that was, it's actually very good. The colorful language in the book keeps me happy. Not to mention the fact that it's sent in the 1100's :) Lords and Ladies and stuffy old kingdoms galore! That's my favorite kind of time period to read about.
Well I must be off, I have a dirt cheep book sale, a birthday, and school to prepare for this week. Wish me luck!

Finished at Sunset
Anyways, back to Whispers at Moonrise. The ending for this one made me feel a little sad. I mean, Kylie left. She left!!! How do you just pick up and leave all of you're people behind? Although, the fact that Holiday and Burnett finally get together makes my heart flutter. It took pretty much 4 books to get them to this point, it's a relief to finally see them achieve that long standing goal. Lucas has eternally shoved me away from his team, and maybe moved me more towards Derek. Sure, Derek was pissing me off during the 2nd and 3rd books but that doesn't mean he hasn't been trying to make amends for being so stupid. I mean, he even confessed to Kylie that he loved her, but he never pressured he to be anything more. He was just there for her, especially when a certain werewolf tool-bag wasn't. I have to say this though, I am jealous that Kylie has the ability to turn completely invisible. I mean, no one can see or here you or even feel you kind of invisible. That sounds like a dream to me. Chosen at Nightfall has just recently come out and I'm hoping either the library gets it soon, or I buy it for myself because I really want to read the last installment of this series and see what the hell Kylie does next!
Until next time,

Sorry xInfinity
Now onto the next book! Whispers at Moonrise has made me so happy and yet sad at the same time. Lucas is being the biggest prick ever. Sure, he has everything with the Were Council to deal with, but that doesn't mean you shut out the person you love. He's holding her to a double standard too. Kylie's just found out that she's a chameleon. Or as the book explains, it's a type of supernatural that retains the dominant DNA of all of their ancestors, and can change into whatever species suits their needs. At first nobody is believing about her being a chameleon, or a lizard, but things start to turn around. A little. She's finally able to meet her grandfather and her great-aunt and finds that they are like her. But.....they want her to go live with them. It's not safe for her to be living among the normal supernaturals, as odd as that sounds. Those that lived alone, didn't make it and eventually were cast out as freaks. But, to add to add to her freaky-ness, she's also a protector and can speak with ghosts. Nice life, isn't it? I am almost finished with the book, and because of that I'm not going to change the cover picture, because I would just have to change it by tonight again. Big pain in the cheeks.
On a different note, my local library is having a book sale next week and I'm extremely excited to go. 50 cents for a paperback and $1.00 for hardcover. I'm happy :)
I'll try and write again soon. Hopefully tonight, but I'm not making any promises.
Until next time,
The Book Nerd
