I'm am about 334 pages into this book, City of Ashes and there is this one person, called the Inquisitor and she's driving me insane. So, here's the low-down. Jace had gone to see his father Valentine, who is extremely fucked up in the head and evil. Any-who, this only happens because the Lightwoods, the family he was staying with kicked him out because he wouldn't say that he hates Valentine, mind you this is the man who raised Jace and it's hard to forget that. He loved this man, who is/was his father and as much as he might try he just can't seem to hate him.
Later, Jace is pretty much forced into this awful kind of cell, that if he runs into the walls to try to get out he'll die. Serious stuff. The Inquisitor, the woman who's supposed to put the Law and the interest of The Clave above all else, is locking Jace in a cell, his hands bound by rune magic, just so she can trade him to Valentine in exchange for the Mortal Instruments. Seriously, lady? Are you that revenge driven not to understand the nature of Valentine? He is that man who happened to do something horrible to your Stephen, although we don't know what at the moment, and he's also the one who "killed his own son, wife, and himself" just so he could appear dead. When in actuality he killed the Wayland's. How would it be a confusing concept that Valentine would rather you just mailed Jace's dead body to him than hand over the Mortal Instruments. It's been quite clear from the time of his uprising that all he's cared for is followers and power. Power above all else.
*Sighs* That was a big.....thing off my chest. (Sorry couldn't think of a word). That woman has just been bothering me from the start. All she does is talk; she never listens to a word anyone is saying. This woman has some serious psychological issues.
I'll probably be done with the book by later tonight, if I don't dawdle.(:
