So, I'm reading "Awake at Dawn" and I get this incredibly crippling headache. There's something wrong with that. Especially if it's a book you're enjoying reading. Ah, well. Time for review.
I'm about 84 pages through the novel and I must say it does keep one entertained. I would be farther, but I have a research paper that I have to due :(. Kylie is kind of irritating me with this whole, "I care about Lucas, but I care about Derek, too. And, I still, also, lust after both of them." It's getting a little repetitive. The way C.C. writes it not make it seem that way though.
The out and out, uncalled for bitchiness is what really bothers me. I understand that things aren't going as Kylie planned them, but that's no reason to lash out at the people who are trying to help and care for her. Maybe that's just me. And, as they are talking about right now, avoiding her problems can only make them worse.
I mean sure, Derek can read your hormones and emotions and even control them, but that doesn't mean you can't give the guy a chance. Especially if the other guy you're lusting after and care for is gone, and he left with another girl, and all he's leaving you are paper trails saying he cares. Like, seriously? Lucas, for sure, is a smoldering god of an Alpha, but, like I said, he left her.
Yes, she's kind of a freak with all of the human and non-human species alike, considering that she can't figure about what kind of paranormal she is, making her an anomaly, BUT that doesn't mean she has to stop trying. I mean right now she's dealing with some kind of psycho-crazy ghost lady who was apparently tortured; that might help her.
It's all about the optimism. :) I'm just messin'; it's all about the opportunities that are presented in front of us. Whether we take them or not is up to us, but it's there and we should take advantage. Ugh, now I'm just blabbering. Well, this is MY blog. Yeesh, I sound conceited with that sentence, sorry about that one. Time to fly to la la land (a.k.a. SLEEP).
Until next time,
The Book Nerd
