Okay so here we go. (WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS)
I'm about 178 pages into this book and I'm obsessed. "Obsidian" by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
Daemon, of course, proves to be something of an intolerable, unreadable ass. He is drop dead gorgeous, but that's besides the point. He might be an alien that glows like 'Loki's glow-stick of destiny', but because of that, we think he thinks he's all that and a bag of chips.
Dee is his sister and I think she's absolutely adorable. Sadly, because of what she is, she's had very few "normal" friends to speak of and the last one ran off with her other brother Dawson; they haven't been heard from in a year.
Somehow, through all of this, Katy manages not to flip a shit and remain cool, of course she almost gets killed and has the right to (flip out, that is), but that's besides the point. Even when she feels things that she knows are forbidden about Daemon and, of course, still feels them anyway; she manages to keep calm. Although, when she throws spaghetti on Ash (Daemon's freakishly clingy and possessive ex-girlfriend), and Daemon, I was in tears with laughter because they deserved it. Saying she isn't welcome isn't right, and then having the audacity to tell her to, "Get lost." is just downright bitchy. I could get it when the psycho, Ash, said it but when Daemon agreed with her I almost threw the book.
I didn't of course because I don't want to damage the book, but still the thoughts were there.
Overall right now things seem to be heating up and I think something is about to happen between the extreme douche and the amazing heroine of this story. I hope she somehow gets to give him a swift kick in the ass for everyone. I hope, anyways.
Until next time,
The Book Nerd
